John Paul Jones – A Night at the Museum is an annual Fall event that utilizes all of the best facets of our productions. The event is presented in the actual house of John Paul Jones, the founder of the American Navy. Each room is filled with history, antiques, memorabilia and a frantic actor who will suddenly come to life as one one of the characters who lived in the house circa 1770’s. Taking a wink from the Ben Stiller’s hit movie “A Night at the Museum” these characters are seemingly part of the patchwork until they become alive when you enter the room. Proving once again that history does not have to be boring these interactive characters are not necessarily pleased with their circumstances (“I’ve been standing here for 200 years watching people like you track dirt onto my floor”) and not afraid to tell you their story. Elijas Hall, Paul Jones first mate is nervous that he might run into the famous captain after he wrote a letter of complaint about him; Maria Salter Preston is looking for her absent husband (he had previously died) and William Fletcher Dunn is in search of his wooden leg. This family-friendly hysterical-historical event is a perfect was to have your history and laugh too! (All photos by Tocky Bialobrzeski)
